PHASE I
This phase would consist of general conditioning, cardiovascular training, muscle strength training, combined with improving the functional level of individual performance factors. This phase is of paramount importance as it sets the base for all future work, both general and specific. The main focus of this phase is Western Boxing, Jun Fan Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Jun Fan Trapping.
PHASE II
Involves transforming the performance factors which have been developed in the previous phase into new higher and more complex standards of performance. Combative attitude and technical problems are stressed while maintaining the level of physical condition achieved in the prior phase. Glove drills and light sparring are introduced in this phase. Training methods expand to include Panantukan (Filipino Boxing), Savate, Filipino & Jun Fan Energy/Flow Drills. At this phase, students are encouraged to supplement their training by adding Filipino Martial Arts, Muay Thai Boxing and/or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to their program.
PHASE III
This phase is concerned with the elimination of known weaknesses, correction of faults, stabilization of the newly acquired skills and abilities, and the engagement of sparring. Advanced training methods are introduced in this phase and include Chi Sao, Wooden Dummy training and the blending of systems. This is the most creative phase and allows the student to discover and explore and to find their own Jeet Kune Do.
